Troubleshooting - Instructions

  • Go for the basic troubleshooting first: Check the batter level and whether your laptop is dead. Also check if the battery is plugged properly. (For this look at the bottom of the laptop)
  • Shut your machine down and then again turn it on, remove and replace the battery and check if the screen appears properly and you tuned it on.
  • Check the lid close switch that depresses when the lid is closed. Check if is stuck or broken, which will result into the laptop screen not lighting up even when the lid is opened
  • Using the VGA port, connect the machine to another monitor and restart it. When the operating system starts loading press F2 to access the system. Enter BIOS and make sure the machine is not stuck in hibernate mode and needs to be manually changed.
  • Undo any recent changes that have been made to the laptop including installation of new software or driver. Restore the system to an earlier point or go for a complete reformatting of the hard drive, if it does not work.
  • Seek technical help to check for graphic card, fan or processor failure.
